Hey! Welcome to my blog.

My name is Mara and I am of average height, but look large to an ant. I enjoy this God-like sense of power, the same feeling I have when I get to pick how the story ends. Growing up in California I witnessed massive wildfires and flooding that shaped the environmental and feminist perspective found in a lot of my writing.

 

I graduated with Honors from American University with a B.A in Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing and a B.A in PR & Strategic Communications. I still live in D.C because I am fascinated by power and there are a lot of trees.  I created this website as an informal place to share my writing, musings, reviews, and adventures.

Currently, I am  working on my first Y.A dystopian novel, "Smoke", which centers around a 16-year-old girl aging out of foster care into a world overcome by climate change. If you have any perspectives on foster care you would like me to hear, feel free to reach out.
